The love for the simplicity of the gesture returns in sculpture as well with US2303, one of Pasquini’s most recent works. The piece features a page from a fashion magazine, stained and crumpled, which the artist salvages and fixes onto wood. Several interventions follow, aimed at intensifying the existing stains and erasing the facial expressions of the girl, thus turning the act of painting into an almost violent gesture against the human figure.

The gesture itself, the possibility of creating a sculpture with just a few movements and found objects, remains the artist’s main focus in this work.

L’amore per la semplicità del gesto ritorna anche in scultura con US2303, una delle opere più recenti di Pasquini. L’opera ha come protagonista la pagina di una rivista di moda, macchiata e sgualcita, che l’artista recupera fissandola al legno. Successivamente seguiranno diversi interventi per esasperare le macchie pre esistenti e annullare le espressioni del viso della ragazza, facendo così diventare la pittura un gesto quasi violento rispetto all’essere umano.

Il gesto, la possibilità di poter creare una scultura con pochi movimenti e oggetti trovati rimane in quest’opera l’interesse principale per l’artista.
